A. & H. Meyer GmbH – Company history

1961 - The company foundation
As a trained toolmaker and electrician, August Meyer founded a small company in Dörentrup-Humfeld in 1961. They delivered small plastic and metal fastening parts to the regional furniture industry.

1970 - The first patent
A patent for the first plastic ball caster was applied for. Until now it has been omnipresent, as it is still part of our logo.

1982 - Extension of the product range
Our product range was extended by the divisions Luminaires for kitchen workspace and Multiple socket boxes. The production of the first multiple socket box M3 has not been changed at all, apart from a face-lift.

1986 - The change of legal form and name
Since its foundation 25 years ago, the initially small company had developed into a medium-sized company. As a logic consequence, the change of legal form and name was carried out in 1986: A. & H. Meyer GmbH [limited company].

1990 - The first major relocation
The company moved into its new headquarters with a floor space of 1,500 square metres at Fermke 8.
Consequently its place of business is maintained in Dörentrup-Humfeld.

1995 - ISO certification
Due to the international orientation and the involved obligations towards our business partners, A. & H. Meyer GmbH was ISO certified.

2001 - Expansion to Asia
To be able to better respond to the conditions in the Asian market, we founded our subsidiary A. & H. Meyer Sdn. Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur / Malaysia in 2001.

2007 - Relocation in Asia
On the basis of the increased requirements to production capacity, our subsidiary A. & H. Meyer Sdn. Bhd. acquired a 2500 square metre production hall and moved to Shah Alam / Malaysia.

2010 - Breaking new ground …
Newly designed product categories and a modernized homepage help to refresh the appearance of A. & H. Meyer GmbH. In the newly created office and conference rooms we will hold client instruction events and meetings to further intensify our service slogan.

2011 - 50-th anniversary
Together with our clients, suppliers, employees and long-time friends, we are going to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2011.
